Consignment Shops in North Carolina for Makers & Artists

These 11 shops say they take work on consignment: you supply the stock and get paid when it sells. All are in North Carolina; see all 211 nationwide or the Charlotte page or the Raleigh–Durham page.

Quick tips

On consignment you lend the shop your stock and get paid only when it sells, minus the shop's cut. Splits vary a lot, and some shops also charge a monthly or up-front fee, which can matter more than the split.

Shop	City	Split	Terms & fees as the shop states them
Park Road Books	Charlotte	60% to the author	Consignment: 60% of the retail price to the author, paid twice a year (February and August) for register sales. Books stay at least 6 months. Needs a 13-digit ISBN, professional binding with the title and name on the spine, and publication within the last year. No Amazon promotion on the book or materials, and unsolicited restocks aren't accepted. Fees: $30 non-refundable handling fee per title (per their page, checked 2026-10-24).

WomanCraft Gifts	Raleigh–Durham	68% to the brand	Artist co-op founded in 1973. The commission split isn't stated on the page. No fees (per the shop).

Compare what you'd earn on consignment vs. wholesale with the wholesale price calculator. Its presets include the published splits and fees.
A monthly fee is owed whether or not anything sells. Divide it by the units you realistically expect to sell each month before you compare splits.
Get the agreement in writing: split, fees, payout schedule, how long stock stays, and who covers loss or damage.
